Wind or not, April has been busy with cycling activities and races. Not just regional but local, too. There’s been gravel racing, mountain biking, BMX, and now circuit road racing in the form of a criterium in Pioneers Park with the Tour de Husker coming up the 19th. There are also opportunities for those cyclists wanting to take in the scenery and support local bike tourism opportunities. Coming up is an event I haven’t seen before, and in the same general area that’s been getting attention lately with the MoPac Gap efforts, as was last weekend’s Louisville Gravel Grinder. It looks like people are noticing there’s an interest in riding bikes on this side of the Missouri too, and they’re keen on getting to know each other. As you can see from the event notification, the ride starts either in Plattsmouth or Glenwood, and the roundtrip between the two is only 25 miles. To my knowledge, this is the first organized ride connecting the two towns. Glenwood sits near the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, a busy cycling corridor just across the river.
