It was a big weekend for cycling centered activities in Lincoln. Being held simultaneously were the Great Plains Trails Network annual meeting, and the Bike Swap Meet & Hot Wheels Race for Craig Schmidt, a benefit to help offset medical costs. First though, the following:
Coming up this week, strangely again at the same time, are two events of interest to cyclists. The first, on Thursday Feb. 13 from 5:30-8 PM at GoodLife Cyclery, 5900 S. 85th, is the film premiere of Adventure for All: Lukas. “Lukas is an Adventure For All Athlete from Lincoln who learned to ride a bike in the summer of 2023, then set his sights on finishing Gravel Worlds in 2024.”
The second event is for the Beyond Adventure Speaker Series: Laura Killingbeck, 6:00 PM Thursday Feb. 13 at UNL’s City Union 1400 R St. “UNL Outdoor Adventures is excited to welcome Laura Killingbeck to present to our students and community. Laura Killingbeck is an international bike tourist, backpacker, award winning writer and storyteller who specializes in unique, emotionally driven personal narratives about human experiences in nature. This year’s event will be held in the Swanson Auditorium at the Nebraska Union.” Admission is free.
