Trail Ramblings: Good Things Are Ahead On The Trails.

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the 2023 Annual Trail Report For The City Of Lincoln. There’s a lot to take in here, so read it to find out what new trails and improvements are in the planning and design stage, what’s been constructed, and what’s undergoing maintenance. I’ve included here a quick list of the projects to be addressed in the next couple of years, along with those whose start dates have yet to be determined. PLANNING GOALS
ACCESS TO A TRAIL WITHIN ONE MILE OF EACH RESIDENCE IN LINCOLN IS A GOAL OF THE 2050 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. WHILE MORE THAN 98% OF RESIDENCES CURRENTLY MEET THAT GOAL, THERE ARE STILL INEQUITIES IN ACCESS AND CONNECTIVITY
IN THE TRAIL SYSTEM. MULTIPLE CITY AGENCIES WORK TOGETHER TO IDENTIFY AND SECURE FUTURE TRAIL ROW FOR THE GROWING CITY, AND TO CLOSE EXISTING TRAIL GAPS WITH APPROPRIATE ON-STREET BICYCLE FACILITIES.
